Positive psychology

Do you ever listen to your internal voice in your head? I invite you today to pay attention to the things you tell yourself. I invite you today to challenge these thoughts. Are the things you tell yourself true? Or have you internalized other people’s criticisms and opinions of you and now you hear those in your head? The negative things like: “you are not good enough”, self-doubt creeping up on you telling you that what you are doing isn’t enough, that you won’t be able to reach your goals.

One of the most interesting phrases I heard in my latest course is that coaches help the clients remove the barriers to the goals they set for themselves. That is a very true statement. In my humble opinion, these barriers can be mental and internalized outside negative voices. We then self-sabotage.

Do you really want to be healthier? Thinner? More successful? If so, do you believe you deserve those things? Or you don’t and you keep listening to the negative chatter in your brain?

It is time to stop listening to these self-limiting beliefs, it is time to shut the negative criticisms, it is time to believe in yourself, that yes you can do it and yes you deserve it!

Your brain is a very powerful engine, if you feed it positivity it will generate positivity, if you feed it negativity, you are self-sabotaging your goals, dreams and aspirations. This is the power of meditation and manifestation. Can you see your new and improved self out there in the future? What does it look like for you? Can you visualize a healthier fitter happier version of you? You have to start by believing that you deserve these things first and believe you are capable of making these changes to really achieve results. We can train our mind to catch ourselves saying these negative things and challenge these beliefs and even reverse them. Saying things like “I am committed to my goals”, “I believe in myself”, “I am capable of change”.

There are things happening to us every day that are out of our control, but there are things happening to us every minute inside our minds that we can. We can rewire our brain to think positive and chose positivity. Choose positive social connections, choose exercise as the drug of choice, choose peace and tranquility over drama.

Coaching empowers the clients as it rests mainly on positive psychology. As your coach, I am here to remind you of your strength, endurance, resiliency, patience and determination. I am here to support you and cheer you on. I am not here to judge you; I am definitely not here to shame and guilt you. You have a safe space with me. A space where we cultivate positivity.

Positive psychology helps people thrive, it works when raising children, in the education field, it works in organizations, in the management field. In one of the books I read about management called the “Strength Finder” and I quote: “One of the most succinct summaries of the strength approach that we’ve ever heard: “If you focus on people’s weaknesses, they lose confidence”. Similarly, focusing on people’s strengths makes them gain confidence and perform better.

Talking with one of my clients last week, she told me she felt overall more positive with the health coaching, and it was probably one of the best compliments I could receive.

In a world that can be harsh, cruel and unjust, I chose positivity. I chose to see the good in people and chose to believe in me, in you and our partnership.

Join me on this journey of positivity as we get “Healthier with Rola”!

It could be baby steps but forward is forward and I am cheering you on this journey!
